Mangaroa's Sesame Beef

Mangaroa's Sesame Beef

This Chinese inspired beef dish uses tender and juicy flank steak cooked in a sweet and savory sesame sauce.  It is the perfect way to incorporate lots of brassica vegetables that are available this time of year including Pak Choi (Bok Choy), Wong Bok (Chinese cabbage), broccoli, kale and to garnish with some spring onions.

There are many ways to serve this dish and we recommend the following ideas:

Lettuce wraps: Lettuce wraps (can use head lettuce or cos) are a great low-carb and easy way to serve up the meat. You can even top the meat with sliced cabbage, carrots, Sriracha, or bean sprouts.

With rice: This beef also goes great over white or brown rice or cauliflower rice (currently available in our Farm Shop)

With noodles: Serve this sesame beef recipe over noodles. Rice noodles, ramen, spaghetti, or vegetable noodles (think zucchini noodles when there's surplus in summer!) make a great base for beef.

Grains and vegetable/salad bowls: Eat with your favorite grains (including gluten free) and vegetables.
